Hello and Welcome! My name is Shannon Hitchcock and I write for children and young adults. I grew up in rural North Carolina on a 100-acre farm. My extended family and love of
the South are integral to my writing. You may have read one of my stories in Highlights for Children, Ask, or Cricket magazines.
Now I invite you to read my debut novel, THE BALLAD OF JESSIE PEARL. I got the idea for writing it from my son’s eighth grade history project, and it’s inspired by a family story.
