31 Days, 31 Posts: 2021 Unique Biographies for Kids
Author/Librarian/Blogger, Betsy Bird does an admirable job at the end of each year rounding up the books she believes to be the best in their genre. Illustrator, Sophie Page and myself were awestruck to see our book, SHE SANG FOR THE MOUNTAINS included in one of Betsy’s posts.
Betsy writes of our book: “Seems appropriate that a tale of an Appalachian hero should be illustrated with clay, paper, fabric, wire, and (I love how this is written in the bio page) “a handful of coal.” Could anything be more perfectly suited? Could anything be lovelier? Sophie Page gives her all with these magnificent illustrations highlighting the life of a folksinger from the 60s
