More Kirkus Love & Two New Books!
Sometimes it feels like I launched both my October books into an election/pandemic abyss so it really brightens my day when they get some love. FLYING OVER WATER got a nice write up in this article by Kirkus.

And on the picture book front, my next two picture books were announced in Publishers Weekly. Like SAVING GRANDDADDY’S STORIES, these were acquired by Reycraft and will be illustrated by Sophie Page.
Wiley Blevins at Reycraft has acquired world rights to picture book biography She Sang for the Mountains–Jean Ritchie, Singer, Songwriter, Activist, and a second picture book, Story Quilts–Appalachian Women Speak by Shannon Hitchcock, both to be illustrated by Sophie Page. Publication is planned for spring 2022; Deborah Warren at East West Literary represented the author, and the illustrator represented herself.
