Speaking with the Council of American Islamic Relations, Florida!

On April 28th, Naheed and I spoke with the Council of American Islamic Relations, Florida in a Facebook live event. We discussed our book, Flying Over Water, and the challenges faced by Syrian refugees coming to the United States during and after the 2017 “Muslim Ban.” At last count, we had over 300 people watch the Facebook live event. On the picture book front, Reycraft sent the cover of my next picture book, She Sang for the Mountains–The Story of Jean Ritchie, Singer, Songwriter, Activist. I love the black background! This book is available for pre-order and has an August 18, 2021 release date.
