Good News/Bad News
First the good news– I signed a new contract for a picture book biography tentatively titled: Of Words & Water–The Story of Wilma Dykeman, Writer, Historian, Environmentalist. This will be the fourth book in my storytellers’ series with Reycraft.
On the bad news front, my first novel, The Ballad of Jessie Pearl is going out of print. The book had a good nine year run, but unfortunately, the publisher, (Stephen Roxburgh at namelos), is retiring and closing up shop. He returned all rights to me, but I’m not sure what I’m going to do with them!
I had the opportunity to write for a new website. My blogpost is titled The Best Middle Grade Books Written by Collaborators. The post gave me the opportunity to showcase the book I co-authored with Naheed Senzai, Flying Over Water, as well as to recommend five other books written by collaborators. You can view my recommendations by clicking on the link above.
I’ll be back next month to discuss my presentations at Virginia Festival of the Book!
