It’s been a busy couple of months. The most exciting thing is the cover for my next book, FLYING OVER WATER was revealed on The Nerdy Book Club. After four novels, I will finally debut as a picture book author. My picture book biography will be called SAVING GRANDDADDY’S STORIES–RAY HICKS, THE VOICE OF APPALACHIA. My editor recently shared preliminary sketches with me, and I can’t wait to see them in color. The projected publication date is Spring of 2021.
Last weekend I attended an SCBWI Conference in Miami. Vanessa Brantley Newton’s keynote was one of the highlights of the conference. Here’s a picture of me and some of my best writer friends:
I have a busy winter planned. I am in the preliminary stages of researching a new novel and have most of February and March blocked off to work on it. World Read Aloud Day is coming up, and in April I’ll be traveling to State College, Pennsylvania for school visits.
Wishing everyone a cozy and productive winter!
