#FAME18 And End of Year Lists!

My last presentation of the year was at #FAME18. It was one of the most well-run conferences I’ve ever attended.

It all started with advance Twitter publicity:

My first conference event was Author Speed Dating. I had the opportunity to give my elevator pitch about ONE TRUE WAY to ten tables of educators, and these wonderful bookmarks were provided by the conference organizers.

My next event was co-leading a session called LGBTQ+ BOOKS–Mirrors and Windows for Students with Rob Sanders. Here’s Rob in front of our opening slide:

In addition to Rob’s book, PRIDE: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag, and my book, ONE TRUE WAY, we had the opportunity to introduce our audience to Rob’s forthcoming book:

And also to a textbook Queer Adolescent Literature as a Complement to the English Language Arts Curriculum. Here’s some shameless self-promotion–Chapter 12 features ONE TRUE WAY!
