Story Quilts–Appalachian Women Speak!

The month of October is all about my latest book. According to Amazon, it’s a #1 New Release in Children’s American Local History!

To celebrate my book’s birthday, I invited people to share pictures of their quilts on Facebook!

A quilt made out of feed sacks by Linda Marshall’s mother in the 1930s.
A yo-yo quilt from Augusta Scattergood’s family.
A quilt made out of velvet from Bradley Robertson’s family.
Quilts from my high school buddy Ron Scott’s family.
A quilt made by Amie Specht’s grandmother. This one is featured in the novel I co-authored with Amie, forthcoming in 2024.
A quilt from Lisa Foster England’s family.
A quilt from the Clare Owens family.
A signature quilt from 1857. This one has been handed down through my extended family. Its current owner is Julia Sain.

I also had the opportunity to talk about quilts and my latest book at School Library Journal’s Day of Dialogue on October 6th.

Thanks to Reycraft whose team always does a stellar job with graphics!

And to continue celebrating everything quilts, I will be having a joint launch on October 25th, (Malaprop’s Bookstore 6:00 pm), with fellow author, Constance Lombardo. Hope to see you there!
