The Lost Month
My mom had back surgery on February 9th, followed by a bad prescription drug interaction, and then a cardioversion to shock her heart back into rhythm. Those complications added up to a month of taking care of her and no time to write.
However, I did have a nice surprise when School Library Journal included my book, ONE TRUE WAY in the article 15 Short & Sweet Love Stories for Tweens & Teens. You can read about it at https://www.slj.com/story/15-short-and-sweet-love-stories-for-tweens-and-teens
Sophie Page, the illustrator of my books was interviewed on Kathy Temean’s Illustrator Saturday. You can see some of Sophie’s wonderful illustrations and learn more about her process here: https://kathytemean.wordpress.com/2023/01/28/illustrator-saturday-sophie-page/
My next live appearance will be at the North Carolina Reading Association Conference. On March 27th. I will be on a lunch panel with fellow authors, Dasan Ahanu, Lejuane Bowens, Annette Saunooke Clapsaddle, and Alan Gratz. Afterwards I will be presenting solo in a session dubbed Students As Storytellers. You can find out more here: https://ncraconference2023.sched.com/event/1IcV1
Fingers crossed for better luck and a more productive year ahead!
