The cover art is here! Dancing in the Storm will be hitting bookshelves on February 6th, 2024.

I’ve been busy since I last updated my blog! On May 6th, I was at AdventureBound Books in Morganton.

On May 9th, I presented to the Burnsville Quilting Guild using my book Story Quilts Appalachian Women Speak.

Later in the month, I spoke to the oldest book club in Asheville at All Souls Cathedral. This particular church was commissioned by George Vanderbilt, who was the original owner of The Biltmore House.

May 26th found me back in my hometown of East Bend, NC for two school visits. I spoke at East Bend Elementary and also at my alma mater, Fall Creek.

The local quilting guild made my presentations extra special by bringing their quilts to display and providing crafts for the kids.

I ended the day at Books & Brew, which is a delightful bookstore and coffee bar. I did a reading of Story Quilts, signed books and answered questions. Chatting with relatives and old school friends was the perfect way to end the day! Many thanks to Debbie Gough, who owns Books & Brew, and arranged my visit.

My last event for the summer is today, June 22nd. I’ll be speaking twice at 1:00 and again at 5:00 to kick off the summer reading program at the Johnson City Public Library in Johnson City, TN. Again, local quilters are displaying quilts and providing crafts for the kids. I love the community interest this kind of partnership provides!

Happy Summer,
