Good Things Are Happening!

My debut novel, THE BALLAD OF JESSIE PEARL has a new cover and the e-book will be reissued on March 3, 2026. I’m super excited about this! It’s not often that a novel published so long ago gets a second chance at life.

On September 17th, I did a Zoom school visit with a group of kids in Knoxville, TN who will be performing a play inspired by my Appalachian picture books. I will be attending one of their performances later this month.

On October 10th, I attended the North Carolina School & Library Media Association Conference in Concord, NC. I was on a middle grade  panel with fellow authors, Bobbie Pyron and Sheila Turnage. Educator Tonnye Fletcher was our moderator.

And to end on an especially high note, I received a contract for my next picture book biography, and I will have more to say about that when it’s officially announced!
